Cruise to Pelican’s Rest August 6 and 7

Let’s take a cruise to Galveston!  Well make Pelican’s Rest Marina in Offatts Bayou our destination.  About 10 slips will be available for WYC members all day Saturday and Sunday, (August 6 and 7). The ICW will be closed much of Friday Aug 5, so this is a weekend event only.

Pelican’s Rest is the premier marina on the island, and it just got better.  Situated near the visitor slips, the marina now has a covered floating amenities barge with an outdoor grill kitchen, tables, seats, and complete restrooms.  We can relax, dine out, or with a little planning prepare for ourselves a small dinner feast.  Who wants to grill burgers?  For five or more boats the group rate is $1.50 per ft.

Galveston is an easy round trip for the power boaters; sail boaters have to work a bit to get there, but the sail back is one of the best on the bay.    Should there be bad weather on the bay the event will be cancelled.
