Waterford Yacht Club Newsletter – April 2022

Recent Events

T-Bone Tom’s – Almost two dozen members went across Hwy 146 to this popular bar and grill for some eats, classic rock and roll and good times in general.

On the Horizon

Red Fish Island Clam Bake (Fri-Sat April 23-24) – Fleet Director Russell Parrish will get us out to Red Fish Island for a clam steaming.  If possible, plan to stay on anchor for the night.  Volunteer help with food items and dinghy service to and from the island is always appreciated.

Arabian Nights Dance Class (Sat May 7 6:00pm) – Members don’t have enough deck space for square dancing, but we do have space for belly dancing.  Attend a professional demonstration and learn the basics of this classic dance form.  Please respond to any future Evite so plans can be made accordingly.

Happy Hour (Friday June 10th 6:00pm) – Let’s gather in Pavilion B for some quality time together.  Our happy hours are an opportunity to share some of your favorite snacks and beverages.

Freeport Cruise (Friday, Saturday, Sunday, June 10th-12th) – WYC go offshore (or just the ICW) to Freeport for a Saturday overnight stay at a marina.  A group dinner is planned where the club provides the entre and you bring a side dish or desert; boaters will also need to make individual slip arrangements. More details will follow as our fleet and social directors decide on the details.

Pancake Breakfast (Sunday June 26th 9:00am – 11:00am) – WYC is serving up the best breakfast you’ve ever had at Waterford Harbor Marina.  Stop by Pavilion B for a stack of flapjacks, mimosas and the latest news at WHM.

Volunteers – WYC’s 2022 agenda is happening and your support with social, education or fleet events is needed.  Contact Commodore Chris Lamson or Vice Commodore Daven Voorhies (vicecommodore@waterfordyc.com) regarding participation.
