Waterford Yacht Club Newsletter – November 2023
More than a dozen members gathered in Pavilion B for our chili cookoff. So many delicious chilies and side dishes were presented the event became a very filling, and spicy dinner. The membership gladly judged them all with their spoons right down to the last morsal. Chef Russ Records’s flavorful entry received the most votes, won a small gift prize, and bragging rights to the best chili in Waterford Harbor.
Karen and Tony Townsend graciously opened their home and hosted our happy hour. Members behaved themselves so there was no report of damages. It was a great change of pace to be in a house, rather than the marina. Thank you, Karen and Tony!
The WYC fleet traveled to our local island retreat for the day and enjoyed an onshore picnic. Several boats anchored and members brought side dishes ashore to augment the hot hog and buns cookout. Thanks to all who participated and Fleet Captain Steve Nolin who led the way in his open Boston Whaler. Good job Steve!
