Enjoy an afternoon sailboat race or cruise into Trinity Bay.

THE RACE: The race will begin with a rolling start between 12:00 and 1:00 p.m., on the Eastside of the HSC, at the South Channel cut marker #1.  Sailors will head out to the Double Bayou channel marker #1, round it with the marker on your starboard side, and return to the South Cut marker #1.  This event will follow the “Rules” as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS 2013-2016).  RRS 26, 29 will not be applicable, and is a non-spinnaker event.  Sail times will be adjusted for the PHRF of each boat.  Sailors will announce their start and finish times on VHF channel 68 and acknowledge the committee boat at the start/finish line.

THE CRUISE:  All boaters who would enjoy more time in Trinity Bay should take advantage of the event and cruise to Double Bayou for a closer look.

The Bayland Marina cruise and overnight stay portion of the event has been suspended until another date when the weather is cooler and more conducive to the outdoor socials WYC enjoys.

POST RACE: We’ll gather at the Waterford Pavillion B (parking lot) for appetizers, and the awarding of the Double Bayou Bucket trophy to the winner.

SKIPPER’S MEETING: Saturday June 11th, 9:30 a.m. at the Waterford Icehouse.

SAFETY NOTE: Trinity Bay has more obstructions than Galveston Bay, so reference your electronic or paper charts and keep clear.  Use caution while crossing the HSC, prior to the start and after the finish.

ALTERNATE PLAN: Should bad weather cause the Saturday June 11 event to be cancelled, the race will be held on Sunday June 12 with an earlier start time between 11:00 a.m. and 12:00, and the award made at the next WYC social gathering.

See you out on the bay!
