Recent Events
Education – Rear Commodore Jeff Mountain led a discussion on the critical boating influences of wind, waves, and currents. Of special interest were the little issues we have using the Blue Marlin fuel dock and the confluence of Clear Creek and Galveston Bay at the Boardwalk.
Games – Social Directors Amy Holdaway and Simmone Gordon assembled a challenging and fun filled afternoon of boating education and friendly competition among the membership. At different corners of Pavilion B we were tested on different rope knots, signal flags and rain gutter sailboat race. Our course time was carefully recorded with Michael Gordon winning, but with so much great food everyone was a winner. Note: the ‘F’ foxtrot red diamond signal flag indicate distress, but you should also call your tow service.

On The Horizon
Dive-In Birthday Pool Party Saturday July 12th – WYC is 26 years old and to celebrate we’ll take control of the Sundance II pool area for a great summertime outdoor party. Besides a cooling dunk in the pool and the outdoor screening of the movie Fool’s Gold there will be games, pizza and the Sundance staff will be available for drink and food orders.

Volunteers: There are always volunteer opportunities at WYC. Either Social Director Amy Holdaway (amyjo67@sbcglobal.net) or Simone Gordon (spg33333@gmail.com) will gladly get you started.
