Recent Events

Commodore’s Ball – WYC is off to a good 2026 start!  The Boots and Bling themed Commodore’s Ball at Sundance Grill II was a great success.  Fifty-five members and guests enjoyed good food, beverages and dancing, and were dazzled by the many pairs of sparkly boots on the dance floor.  Our thanks go out to Amy Holdaway and others for the party organization and decorations; we all had a wonderful evening.

Festivities paused for recognition of the 2025 Board members and the new 2026 Board.  A special moment was reserved for the Yachtsman of the Year award to Tina Pantoja for her consistent support of club activities. Michelle Weidner has added many more photos to the Waterford Yacht Club Facebook page.

WYC Business Meeting – Before the Commodore’s Ball WYC at the annual Business Meeting outgoing Commodore Steve Nolin reviewed 2026 activities and Treasurer Vicke Voorhies gave a club financial report.  By a unanimous vote Jeff Mountain was installed as the 2026 Commodore along with the other volunteer officers.  The WYC 2026 Board of Directors are listed below:

On The Horizon

Saturday Feb 28 5:00pm Sundance Grill – Trivial Pursuit – The next scheduled event is a Trivial Pursuit type game that will focus on boating Q&A.  Join in, test your boating knowledge and win a prize.
Saturday March 14 5:00pm Sundance Grill – Wine & Cheese New Member Drive – The biggest little charcuterie table buffet in Texas returns to WYC.  Yachtsman of the Year Tina and past commodore Mike Pantoja will host this delicious event for us.  Please bring a new member prospect to show off WYC at its best.
