From The Helm:

As we enter another month, the weather continues to be hot and humid but I guess this is much better than facing a hurricane .

We have several events planned over the next couple months  a couple of social hours which seem to be well attended. Our next big cruise event is labor day weekend , Larry has arranged slips and discounts at Pelican Rest, we need member participation . These events are planned for you so take advantage of them.  We have a shrimp boil and a dock poker run, sounds like fun.  Our Birthday Bash is coming up Sept 20, and new this year is the First Annual Waterford Yacht Club/ Lighthouse Charity Regatta, details will continue to be sent to you.  If you would like to race, contact Brian or Mike T. I believe we have about 10 boats so far. There will be a shrimp boil, silent auction and fun events with all proceeds going to Light House .  Please try to participate we need volunteers and members.

September is scheduled as an All Member Board Meeting so please try to plan and be at the meeting September 6 at 9 AM. This is your club ,we need your input and help to make it better.

The Board has decided to obtain an outside web hosting and commercial webmaster to make the web site Tim developed even better and more user friendly. This Board  committed to make this a real priority and our Vice Commodore Dan Fuller has taken this on as a major priority.  An input from you the members will be appreciated , as I look at the agenda for the rest of the year  I ask each and everyone of you to try and participate in our activities .
