Singo Bingo Party – Former Commodore Mike and Yachtsman of the Year Tina Pantoja hosted this memorable event at the Namthai restaurant in Kemah.  Mike played the 1980s one hit wonders, we remembered the song name and matched it to our Bingo type card.  Commodore Jeff Mountain knew the songs and had the lucky card so he won a wine bottle prize.

New Members –  Ed and Elizabeth York recently joined WYC.  They are onboard S/V Lil Miss Magic at pier 9 slip 21.  Be sure to stop by soon and give them a hearty WYC Ahoy.

On The Horizon

Pier 6 Lunch Sunday Sept. 6th noon – Let’s meet at the Pier 6 Seafood and Oyster House Restaurant in San Leon.  WYC will order appetizers and members can order their own meals.  Come be sea or land yacht, the restaurant dock can handle shallow draft boats.  The Evite is already out, please respond by Aug. 28 so a table count can be made.

Anchoring Techniques Saturday Sept 12 – Rear Commodore Steve Nolin has arranged for a seminar on this important subject at the Sundance Grill in the Members Room.  The morning start time is not yet set, so watch for the upcoming Evite.
WYC Birthday Party Saturday Sept. 26 – Our 27-year-old club will have an Oktoberfest theme party with grilled brats and other traditional German foods.  Bring your favorite beer to help celebrate the event and a few dollars (cash) for a 50/50 drawing.  Half of the proceeds will go to a local charity.
Nassau Lake Raft Up – We’re still planning to go, hopefully in October; but are waiting on cooler weather and an alligator free zone.
Volunteers: Our November activities need some volunteer help.  Also our 2027 Board of Directors needs new volunteers to help keep WYC at full speed ahead.  You can get started by contacting
