RECENT EVENTS
WYC & WHM: Galveston Bay Education June 13th – More than 20 members and guests attended the Recreational Boater Guy, Phillip Kropf’s, presention of great locations for fully enjoying all Galveston Bay has to offer boaters. Thank you Phillip (https://www.facebook.com/people/The-Recreational-Boater-Information-Guy/100064447702068/) for speaking and Rear Commodore Steve Nolin for arranging the event.
Moody Gardens Overnight – Fair weather and the desire to use our boats encouraged a large group of WYC members to tie-up at Moody Gardens in Galveston Island Offatts Bayou. We took over the dock and then enjoyed the restaurant, pyramid attractions, and the fireworks for a great weekend. Thank you Fleet Captain Amy Holdaway for organizing the event!
WYC Merchandise – Former Yachtsman of the Year Elfie Boersma has secured a small order of yacht club logo caps for sale. The hats are priced at only $25 each and, while supply lasts, available at upcoming club events. Also replace your missing or weather beaten WYC burgee with a fresh new one for only $35. Look for, or contact Treasurer Vickie Voorhies.
Lost and Found – After an exhaustive search through the Sundance Grill II, manger Paula Price and server Kayland found our missing 6 foot ‘Waterford Yacht Club’ banner.
UPCOMING EVENTS
Singo Bingo Party Saturday July 18 5:00 to 6:30pm – Hosts Mike and Tina Pantoja will play the tunes and you’ll mark a Bingo like card. The club will provide light appetizers. Please respond to the June Evite.
Happy Hour Saturday August 8 6:00 to 9:00pm – Despite the heat we’ve had a busy summer so let’s share our latest activiites at this happy hour gathering in Pavilion B. Bring an appetizer and/or cooling beverage to share and help pass the evening together.
Pier 6 Lunch Saturday Sept. 6th 11:00 to 1:00pm – Set aside this afternoon for a gathering by sea or by land at the Pier 6 Seafood and Oyster House Restaurant in San Leon. WYC will order appetizers and members can order their own meal. An Evite with more details will be sent out soon.
