Railean Distillery Happy Hour

Members got into the Halloween Pirate spirt early and dropped anchor at the Buccaneer Bar for a round of tall tales and favorite drinks. A crew of 28 pirates and tourists voted John Judas and Daniel Knierien as the best dressed pirates. After the rowdy crew closed-down the bar they sailed to a favorite nearby harbor, Topwater Grill, for further provisions. Thanks to social director Sarah Winston and especially member Kelly Railean (http://www.railean.com/) for setting up the great social event.

Bunco Night

Most of the 13 members didn’t know the rules (except host Laurie Jachimiec), but it didn’t matter – the dice were hot. With every roll the dice clattered across the tables, onto the floor, into food plates, everywhere!  When it was over Tony Townsend and Laurie Jachimiec were the high score/bunco winners and Michael Gordon was the low score winner.

Chili Cookoff

The weather has finally cooled off, but it was still a hot and spicy night as six cooks competed for the WYC favorite Chili award. More than 28 members enjoyed the evening with a variety of chilies, tasty side dishes, deserts and of course plenty of yachting chit-chat. Laurie Diehl was the winner, followed by Amy Holdaway, and Russ Records. WYC thanks all the cooks who made it a delicious night.

On the Horizon

Redfish Raft-up Saturday November 9th

Another afternoon raft-up at Redfish Island is in the works (weather permitting). Plan on staying for the afternoon and the island cookout. Arrive as early as you can and bring a side dish share. If conditions are right some boats will remain at anchor and stay overnight. Uber dinghies are very much needed so contact Fleet Captain Simone Gordon (spg33333@gmail.com) if you can help.

Into December

The Christmas Lights Parade is Saturday December 14, and our marina Christmas lights and deserts night is the day before Friday December 13. Invitations for the Commodore’s ball will be mailed in December.
