Recent Events
Happy Hour: Members met to share marina news, snacks, and a few beverages. Director Simone Gordon organized our monthly event and added a chocolate Easter egg flavor to all the different dishes.
Gumbo Cookoff: There were so many gumbo entries, side dishes and desserts the cookoff became a three-course meal. About 20 members expressed thanks to Social Director Michelle Weidner’s organization of the delicious event. She counted the contest votes and awarded Vicke Voorhies the first place prize. When asked about her secret gumbo recipe Vickie said “keep stirring the rouxe”.
On The Horizon
T-Bone Tom’s Party Saturday April 1 6:00pm – 9:00: Enjoy a party with music, dancing, food and beverages at T-Bone Tom’s. WYC will supply the appetizers and Van Wilks will supply the live classic rock music.
Red Fish Island April 7 – 9: WYC will be on Redfish Island Saturday April 8. Arrive early and anchor both Friday and Saturday nights. The club will bring Saturday BBQ and tables, you just need to bring a boat, chair and a side dish. Dinghy service on and off the island will be provided as needed. Its Easter weekend so Fleet Captain Steve Nolin has invited the Easter Bunny to visit. When you respond ‘YES’ to the Evite add a comment regarding the side dish you can bring.
Galveston Tall Ships April 13-16: They’re still afloat and back in Galveston. Led by Galveston’s 146 year old Elissa many clippers, barks, windjammers and other tall sailboats will parade past the Galveston beaches and dock in Galveston Harbor. Cinco de Mayo Fiesta: Social Director Michelle Weidner is planning a Latin themed party. She’s relying on us to help with the food and beverages, so when you respond ‘YES’ to the Evite add a comment regarding what you can add to the party. (For Gringos the date is Friday May 5th).
