Poker Run for Dinghies and Pedestrians – The club’s Run was well received by all participants.  Seven regular and six board members participated in the monster card game.  To assemble their hands players solved the six clues and received cards at each location on the Waterford or Watergate docks.   Could  you have solved these easy clues?

The decks are gone,
It looks so dead,
All that’s left is the head.

This location was tricky

His ship needs work, it’s on the hard.
Our Alien friend has your card.

Trouble ensued when wind blew the alien and his lawn chair into the water.  Luckily he could swim and dock dealer Evan Bauman recovered both.  All the players returned to Pavilion B in time for the showdowns where Simone Gordon’s four queens made the best hand.  Trophies, aliens, and cash prizes were awarded, and everyone enjoyed the grilled  hamburger lunch prepared by Vickie Voorhies.  Many thanks to the other board members  Elfie Boersma, Chet and Laurie Jachimiec, plus Bill Adams and Wendy Buskop who made the event work.
