WATERFORD YACHT CLUB MAKES ANNUAL DONATION

TO THE COAST GUARD FOUNDATION

The Waterford Yacht Club, based in Kemah, Texas, recently made their annual donation to the Coast Guard Foundation. The funds were raised at the 9th annual WYC Birthday Bash.   "We all enjoy boating, our educational classes, and having fun while at the same time raising money for a good cause. We have supported the Coast Guard Foundation with our donations for the past three years," said Sandy Records, the 2008 WYC Commodore.

One of the missions of the Waterford Yacht Club is to assist a local philanthropy that benefits the Galveston Bay boating community. The Coast Guard Foundation has the responsibility of supporting Coast Guard families who have lost their homes to disasters such as hurricanes, while their loved service members are out performing their rescue missions.

Board members, from WYC, Era Lee Caldwell, Linda Wiper, Sandy Records, the 2008 Commodore, and Past Commodores Rus Records and Dan Fuller presented the donation to former Coast Guard Commandant Rear Admiral Bob Kramek, the President of the Coast Guard Foundation. While there, they were treated to an interesting tour of the American Bureau of Shipping in Houston.

Waterford Yacht is sanctioned by the Yacht Club of America.
