ARRRGGGHHHH!!!  All you landlubbers not at the Buccaneer Bar for  the “Talk Like a Pirate” Party – you sure missed a good time and you’ll be lucky if we don’t make you walk the plank!  We had a group of about 20 make the trip down to San Leon.  Call Me the Breeze, Elan, and Voyager II made the trip by sea and anchored out off of Eagle Point.  We had a little excitement at this event – Larry Wiper cut his had and had to make a trip to the emergency room.  No worries though, he was back at the party in full costume in just a couple of hours.  Hope you are feeling better Larry!  

WYC took the Buccaneer Bar and the contests by storm.  Harry Caldwell won the men’s round of “Talk Like a Pirate”, and I (Kelly Railean) won both the women’s “Talk Like a Pirate” and the women’s “Best Dressed Pirate”.  We won’t go into how I won the “Best Dressed Pirate”, let’s just say you had to be there!!  Other WYC winners included Sandy Records and Larry Wiper for “Best Dressed WYC Pirates”, and Harry Caldwell for “Best WYC Pirate Talker”.

The Kemah Bums did a good job entertaining everyone and a bunch of us even got out on the dance floor showing off our best Pirate moves.  The place has a great view from the restaurant on the second floor, perfect for watching the hundreds of parrots that nest in the palm trees!  Everyone enjoyed either BBQ or Burgers and such from the “Pirates’ Galley”.  If you missed this event and haven’t been out to the Buccaneer Bar before, you need to be checking this place out or you be better off joining Davy Jones’ Locker!!
