Cooking on Board & Boat Drink Seminar

A great time was had by all at the Waterford Yacht Club “Cooking on Board & Boat Drink Seminar”. A big thanks to Gary Powers for speaking about his experiences while cruising, giving us some great tips on provisioning, and informing us on the truth about Mayonaise! Our demonstrators for the “One-Pot Wonders” included Matt Railean and his meatballs (several variations), Rus Records with his Shrimp Risotto, Drew Concelman and his Andouille Sausage & Shrimp with Mustard sauce, and Suzanne Donley with her healthy and tasty meatless chili. For dessert, Rus wowed us with Krispy Crème Doughnut bread pudding, and Misty (my sister-in-law) intrigued everyone with her Cheesecake, vanilla vodka, Tequila Rose pudding shots!! The food was wonderful, but we know this group is all about the adult beverages, and there was no shortage of those! Travis & Eva Ewing made their boat’s namesake – The Blue Agave, Robert Donley dazzled us with his Yellowbird (151 Rum – zowie!!), Rus & Sandy brewed up some Nazy Grog, and I whipped up some jello-shots. It was a beautiful day and a smashing success. Thanks to everyone who brought and demonstrated how to make the cocktails and dishes. Thanks also to my husband Matt, my brother Troy & his wife Misty, and Rus & Sandy for helping me to set up and clean up the house!!
