The 2006 WYC Crawfish Boil was a smashing success! Though the day started
out a bit rainy and overcast, the clouds parted and the sun came out by the
afternoon. A great big round of applause to Phil & Rosa Andrus and Pat &
Susie Andrus for hosting the event and cooking up some fantastic mud-bugs. I
would also like to thank Julie & Colin Gibb for getting a great deal on the
crawfish & helping out with the event. We had a big turnout but there was
more than enough crawfish, potatoes, corn, onions and garlic to go around.
The big hit of the boil was the sausage (which was from Perry’s Meat
Market). I watched more than one person go from table to table looking
through the piles bugs for the delicious sausage!
Commodore; Julie Gibb; said a few words and welcomed some of our new members
to WYC, and I did a "Toga Tying" demonstration in preparation for the Unruly
Regatta. Remember, for the Unruly Regatta in July, we will be racing the
Greek Isles and finishing with a Toga style pool party at Sundance II. We
will have a buffet with Greek food and the motto of the event will be: NO
SHEET – NO EAT!!!!!! If you missed the Toga tying class – no worries – we
will do it again at our June events.
Just a few more words of thanks to some of the other
members that helped make this party such a success: Karen & Alan Albrecht,
Walter Bliss, Ricardo & Carol Gomez, and our special guests – Dana &
Elizabeth Oliver. Dana & Elizabeth donated the potatoes, corn & yummy
sausage! If I have missed anyone, I apologize and hats off to y’all!
