Spring WYC Club Cruise to Moody Gardens Cruise May 14-16th |
Yes, its still ON! Fleet Captain Rus Records has declared "We're not going to take it anymore - - the party will go on! The Hard Core has decided to "Press ON Regardless" and there will be a cruise after all, no matter WHAT! The Saturday Dock Party at Moody Gardens will now expand to include a Crawfish Boil, featuring former WYC member Randy Smith's Famous Cajun Boil Recipe. Only $5 bucks a head plus free wine and beer! The WYC Spring Cruise to Offatt’s Bayou and Moody Gardens is on Friday May 14th. The Club has reserved all the slips at Moody Gardens for the event, and you will need to contact Rus Records to make your reservation. There are a total of 14 slips; 9 have 30 amp power and 5 have 50 amp power. We currently have 2 of the 50 amp slips reserved and the rest will be going fast.
Some
boats will be coming down on Friday afternoon and the rest will join up and
go down on Saturday morning.
There will be a
Cruise lead for each group of boats. The Cruise Lead for Friday is Rus Records.
If you would like to volunteer to lead the cruise group on Saturday, let me
know as soon as possible. The Cruise Leaders will be
monitoring VHF channel 13 for anyone that has any questions or needs any
assistance. Please let us know which day you will be going down, so that the
Cruise leads know which boats will be sailing with them.

Kemah at 1300 Friday on Voyager, a Vagabond 47 with red sails.
If you want to go down and anchor out, there is plenty of room to anchor and come over to the dock by dinghy for the social events. If the weather is calm, you could raft up outboard on the T-head next to Voyager. You are also welcome to come by land yacht. Please RSVP to Rus Records at 281 250 6139 or at rrecords@houston.rr.com if you plan on attending this premier event on Friday or Saturday and if you plan on coming by boat or by land yacht. That way we will know how many to prepare for on both nights.
The current plan
for Friday night is to have a hamburger and hot dog cook out on the dock and
everyone is to BYOB. There will be a $5 per person charge to defray
the cost of the food.
We can hold slips until 15:00 Wednesday, May 13th. If you have reserved a slip you are responsible for canceling your reservation by that time if your plans change or you are liable for the charge. There is a possibility that if you need a slip that there might be some available at the Landings. Their phone number is 409-744-3625. We will try to arrange a water taxi service for you if you are anchoring or staying at the Landings. If you have any questions or need to verify your reservations please call me.
